Why does my e-mail
have {E-Wiz Scan: Spam Blocked} in the subject?
Messages with modified subjects that say
{E-WIZ Scan: Spam Blocked} are simply notifications sent to
you from E-Wiz Solutions. These notifications tell you that
a certain e-mail was not delivered to you because it has produced
a spam score greater than 9 on the spam meter and therefore
has been blocked. If you discover that the e-mail should not
have been blocked, please follow the instructions contained
in the notification for retreiving the e-mail and it will
not be blocked again. Why
does my e-mail have {Spam?} in the subject? Messages
with modified subjects that say {Spam?} are e-mails that have
not been blocked and are still delivered to you despite the
possibility that they may be spam. The subject is modified
to alert you of the possibility that it may be spam. The beauty
behind this is that users like yourself can now set custom
filters in Outlook/Eudora to immediately filter email messages
with subjects containing {Spam?} to be stored in a BULK folder
instead of your Inbox. {Spam?} in your subject indicates that
an email message has produced a spam score value between 5
and 9. My e-mail was returned
to me after I sent it to someone, why was it not delivered?
When an e-mail is returned to you, there
is usually an explanation or error code in the returned mail.
Typically mail is returned because of an incorrectly specified
e-mail address made on your part, an attachment you may have
included that was too big, or the recipients mailbox is full
or above quota. For a list of error codes and what they mean,

I am not able to send e-mail, but can still receive it ?
If your email software is providing you with
a message such as this: "Unable to connect to your outgoing
(SMTP)
e-mail server". It is likely that your Internet Service
Provider has joined the majority of Internet Providers that
block port 25 to prevent you from using other companies like
E-Wiz Solutions, Inc. for handling your outgoing e-mail. You
can fix this problem by using the following instructions that
should only take a minute of your time: You will need to change
the setting in your email client to send email to SMTP
Port 26. You can probably find this setting somewhere under
advanced options or something similar and change it yourself.
If you need assistance, please contact
us. Most e-mail software has a straight forward method
for changing SMTP
ports, however if you are using Eudora, please use the following
instructions: To update the SMTP
PORT in Eudora, copy file Qualcomm/Eudora/Extrastuff/esoteric.epi
into your Qualcomm/Eudora folder. Restart Eudora, Then go
to your "Tools" menu and
select "Options" then
select "Ports". Change
port 25 to 26. Someone
received a suspicious e-mail from my domain, however knowone
at my domain sent the e-mail? It
is very likely that a computer somewhere on the internet is
infected with a virus and has an address book entry with e-mail
addresses from your site. The infected computer may be sending
e-mail messages containing viruses to others while spoofing
the "FROM" address to make the e-mail look
as though it came from your site. Today, many spam experts
have the ability of spoofing the "FROM"
portion of an e-mail address with the intention of impersonating
someone they are not. This is not uncommon. If you received
a copy of the e-mail, you can forward it to ew
izadmin@e
wizpo.c
om for further investigation. Many viruses explained at symantec.com
posess these characteristics and typically cause mass mailings
to address book entries. What
e-mail address does the E-Wiz Solutions administrator use
to contact customers? The E-Wiz
administrator only sends e-mail to it's customers from one
of two addresses: ew
izadmin@ew
izpo.c
om or ra
m@ewi
zpo.c
om and will always include the E-Wiz Logo in the e-mail.
For Example: A spammer might send an e-mail
with a return address adm
in@ewi
zpo.co
m to you asking you to provide your most recent password information.
NOTE: It is important to understand that E-Wiz does
not send emails to customers requesting personal or account
information, nor does E-Wiz send attachments to it's customers.
If you have any questions regarding a suspicious e-mail you
recently received, please contact E-Wiz
immediately. |
